Through strategic partnerships, the work carried out at The Skills Centre benefits local people, while helping to build the communities of tomorrow.
The Southwark Construction Skills Centre, in partnership with Lendlease and Southwark Council, is just one example of how our centres are bridging the skills gap while benefiting the local communities.
We strive to ensure Elephant Park makes a positive contribution to the local community through jobs and training opportunities and are proud of the impact the Southwark Construction Skills Centre has had Kristy Lansdown, Project Director of Elephant Park for Lendlease
Since the centre was officially opened by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, in 2016 it has gone from strength to strength. We provide relevant construction skills training and ensure that residents have the qualifications necessary to gain access to the jobs within the construction sector.
The Southwark Construction Skills Centre works to provide accessible routes to careers in construction, including inspiring schools engagement, entry level training and apprenticeships, as well as upskilling opportunities and professional development courses for experienced workers.
The success of the centre is demonstrated by the 8,000 + people that have received training at Elephant Park. It’s a true reflection of the collaborative effort between all partners: Lendlease, London Borough of Southwark and The Skills Centre.
